Affiliate Marketing is quickly becoming one of the premier ways to make money on the internet. It's becoming so popular due to the fact that it lets people earn extra money on the side if they so choose to, and it even enables some people to make a full time living online if they learn the process well enough. And regardless of what you have been told, it really isn't all that hard as long as you start with the basics! I'm going to show you just how simple it really can be to get started in the world of affiliate marketing, and we might even have some fun along the way.
So it may sound a little scary at first, but the term affiliate marketing is actually a huge term that could mean any number of different things. In layman's terms all it means is that you are selling a company's products, and in exchange for your salesmanship, they are going to give you a nice little compensation. Doesn't seem so terrible anymore, does it?
Of course the next question people have is, "Alright great, so how do I sell this stuff?" Getting all antsy I see, but we need to answer an even more important question first; what interests you so much that you're just dying to try and sell it on the internet? Even better, how do we know what companies want us to sell their stuff? The best part is that most of your favorite online retailers have affiliate programs. Amazon? Yep. Ebay? Check. Moe's Texas Style 100% Authentic Cowboy Boots? Definitely. Assignment number one: open up a new tab or window and look up your favorite retail website. Odds are pretty good that they are going to have an affiliate program. Once you find your affiliate program page, read through the retailer's rules and conditions and all that good stuff, and make sure you find out how much they pay out in commission on each sale. Some programs offer a great rate, but some programs offer terrible rates. In this case it pays off in the end to research these programs thoroughly.
So we've got our product, great! Now the fun begins, we get to let the world know why they need this product in their life. What we're going to do is write an article explaining why everyone should buy this. The better your writing skills are, the bigger your income with this project will be. At this point, head on over to Yahoo or Google and do a search for article directories, and then proceed to submit your article to these websites who publish it for tons of people to see. If you feel extra ambitious, submit to a bunch, increasing your chances of making money. Seriously, the more you submit to the better! The directories will have a section called the resource box, this is where you stick your affiliate link that people will click on once you have convinced them to buy this product.
Was this so terrible? Not even close!You just did what we call article marketing, a very popular technique that once you have down to a science can yield great results. Its my hope that this helps a few people get into affiliate marketing.
